Anne is a true people person and enjoys building long lasting relationships with patients and other health care professionals. Her warm personality and genuine concern for her patients create a welcoming environment that keeps patients coming back.
Anne’s background has enabled her to successfully provide patients with comprehensive, individualized treatment. She first obtained an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Wilfrid Laurier University (WLU). She then completed a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology from WLU with a specialization in biomechanics. Her research focused on the effects of foot orthotics on lower extremity mechanics during gait. She presented her research findings at many scientific conferences including the International Society of Biomechanics, the North American Congress on Biomechanics and the Ontario Biomechanics Conference. It was during this time that she was exposed to the exceptional clinical work of Canadian Certified Pedorthists and realized that she had found her calling. She then obtained a Diploma in Pedorthics with distinction from The University of Western Ontario where she was the recipient of the Howard Feigel Memorial Award for academic excellence. Anne successfully completed her certification exams the same year through The College of Pedorthics of Canada.
Anne believes in the importance of giving back to her profession and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Pedorthic Association of Canada. Additionally, she frequently offers educational sessions to groups in her community regarding foot health and footwear. Anne considers learning to be a lifelong process and regularly attends continuing education workshops and conferences. She is an active member of the Pedorthic Association of Canada (PAC), The College of Pedorthics of Canada (CPC) and the Ontario Kinesiology Association (OKA).
Outside of work, Anne enjoys spending family time with her husband and their two children. Together they love to travel and spend lazy days at the cottage with friends and family. Anne also enjoys a variety of sports and outdoor activities and can often be found playing soccer or walking her dog around Barrie’s beautiful waterfront.
