Elisa graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2000 with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Human Resources Management.  Her favourite courses were in biomechanics and because of this interest she decided to further her education in this area and get her Professional Certification of Pedorthics at Western University.  She became a Certified Pedorthic Technician in 2002 and a Canadian Certified Pedorthist in 2004.

She is a member of the Pedorthic Association of Canada (PAC) and the College of Pedorthics of Canada (CPC) and currently sits on the Board of Directors for PAC.  Previous to being on the board she worked for many years on the Professional Development Committee and was the Chair of this committee from 2020-2022.  In addition she was the Chair of the PAC Annual Symposium in 2021.  In 2022 she was honoured to receive the Award of Distinction from the Pedorthic Association of Canada - an award that recognizes one pedorthist across Canada each year for their leadership, commitment and contributions to the Pedorthic profession.

In her spare time, Elisa enjoys playing ultimate frisbee and spending time with her partner and 2 teenage boys.
