Elisa Harrison

Elisa Harrison graduated from the University of Waterloo with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Human Resources Management in 2000. She took two years to work at Manulife Financial and Foote, Cone and Belding advertising agency before turning to her true passion of biomechanics. She went on to pursue her interest in helping others while using her kinesiology background and creative ability to become one of the first graduates of the University of Western Ontario’s Post-Graduate Certificate Program in Pedorthics in 2002.

In the past, Elisa has had the opportunity to work for DCIEM (Defense & Civil Institute of Environmental Medicine), The Peel Regional Police, Peel Health Department – in Community Development/Health Promotion and at the Guelph Community Health Centre.

Now, as a Canadian Certified Pedorthist, working with Pedorthic Services since 2002, Elisa works in multi-disciplinary clinics in Guelph, Collingwood and Milton. Being in Collingwood allows her to take a special interest in skaters, hockey players, skiers and snowboarders in the area. To stay active in the community, Elisa offers education sessions to local groups on foot health and footwear and sponsors local races such as the Guelph Downtown 5k to benefit the Guelph Community Health Centre. She remains an active member of the Pedorthic Association of Canada (PAC) and the College of Pedorthics by developing and revising exam questions for the exam writing committee and writing articles for the Pedorthic Association of Canada newsletter.

In her free time, she enjoys pursuing her second love of making jewellery as well as photography, music, playing ultimate Frisbee, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, and mountain biking.
