Regulation of Pedorthic Practice

Pedorthic practice for Canadian Certified Pedorthists is regulated by the College of Pedorthics of Canada.
(No comparable regulation is provided for pedorthists who are not Canadian certified).

The College of Pedorthics of Canada is responsible for:
* certifying members and protecting consumers of the service
* establishing standards of practice
* ensuring compliance with the College’s by-laws and stringent Code of Ethics
* investigation and disciplinary processes for complaints regarding Certified Pedorthic
* professionals’ practice maintaining a rigorous certification process
* ensuring that members maintain continuing education points to keep their certification up to date

To maintain Canadian certification, pedorthists must also remain a member in good standing with The Pedorthic Association of Canada (www.pedorthic.ca), a nonprofit professional association for the purpose of developing and promoting the study, practice and knowledge of Pedorthics.
